Building Life Cycle Assessment

Description

Similar to a traditional Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), a building LCA assesses the wide-ranging environmental footprint of a building, including aspects such as energy use, global warming potential, habitat destruction, resource depletion, and toxic emissions. A LCA can help answer numerous questions that arise during the design and construction of a green building, and can reinforce the decisions taken by architects by providing a scientific justification.

An additional benefit of utilising a Building LCA, is the possible integration of a Building Life Cycle Costing (LCC) analysis. This analysis will evaluate the costs of your building over its whole life cycle, and can help assess long-term savings and costs.
